An alleged drunk driver struck two vehicles after entering the Coronado Bridge in the wrong direction early Monday morning. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the accident occurred March 27th around 4:00 a.m. in San Diego. The driver was identified as 24-year-old Briana Rall; she was driving a white Ford Fusion eastbound on the westbound side of the bridge when she struck a Ford-150 pickup truck head-on near the toll plaza.
The force of the initial impact caused her vehicle to hit a Dodge Ram truck before coming to rest in the westbound lanes. Each driver involved sustained injuries in the collision. Rall and the 49-year-old driver of the Ford suffered major injuries and were transported to a local hospital for treatment. The driver of the Ram sustained minor injuries.
An investigation is still ongoing in order to reveal all the factors that were involved in the crash. The identities of the two drivers struck have not been released. The CHP confirmed that Rall was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
